In the occupied Crimea, the Russian police handed a warning to imam Dilyaver Khalilov “about the inadmissibility of breaking the law,” as “New Year is approaching.” Crimean Solidarity reports this.
The warning notes that "during assemblies, rallies, demonstrations, marches, and pickets, extremist activities are not allowed."
“On December 9, at around 7 pm, a traffic police car arrived. The police brought me a warning. “Why did you bring me a warning?” I asked. They said that the New Year is approaching. They gave it to me and left,” the imam said.
Let us remind that on April 15, in the occupied Crimea, an administrative case was opened against Dilyaver Khalilov, the imam of the mosque, for "carrying out illegal missionary activities." Then, he was accused of "organizing an unauthorized meeting, procession, rally." On July 6, the Supreme "court" of the occupied Crimea rejected the lawyer's appeal against the verdict of Khalilov, who was fined 30,000 rubles for "organizing an unauthorized meeting,” namely, holding a collective Friday prayer, obligatory for Muslims, in the Mosque.
