On Wednesday, December 9, Russian security officials came to the house of a civilian journalist, a former political prisoner, Nariman Memedeminov, to conduct a preventive conversation. This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.
“Two people came. The list was in my hands, I asked to show it, since my wife was also mentioned on the same list, I saw my own and her surname on the list. The conversation was short. They said: “We were told to hold a preventive conversation with you. You are not going to hold rallies, commit offenses?” I answered in the negative. On this we said goodbye”,- Memedeminov said.
We remind, that on March 22, Russian security officials ransacked the dwelling of an activist of Crimean Solidarity, a civil journalist Nariman Memediminov in the village of Kholmivka, Bakhchisaray district. On October 2, the Southern District Military Court sentenced the journalist to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a penal colony, and also banned his administration of the websites for two years. For two years now, Memedeminov has been illegally detained.
According to his wife, the search was carried out in a harsh manner, security officials broke down the front door and used obscene words. The man himself was detained on suspicion of public calls for terrorist activities. In relation to Nariman Memedeminov, the right to a fair trial was repeatedly violated, in particular, the period of detention was regularly extended and rejected appeals. The right to the healthcare access was also violated. On September 27, in the North Caucasus District Military Court, the “prosecutor” demanded to sentence the civil journalist Nariman Memedeminov to six years in prison.
