We are sorry: Russia reacted to the new resolution on the occupied Crimea

December 8, 2020

First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky responded to the strengthened resolution of Ukraine on the militarization of the occupied Crimea, saying that this will not affect the position of the Crimeans and the status of the peninsula. This was reported via the website of the Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN.

The Russian Federation expressed its regret in connection with the voting on the Ukrainian draft. And as noted in the department, the point is not in the content of this absurd and false resolution: its adoption or rejection, as I already explained in the statement before the vote, will not affect the position of the Crimeans and the ownership of the peninsula.

“We are disappointed only by the fact that the Ukrainian Maidan regime will receive another propaganda toy, which, contrary to logic, arithmetic and common sense, he will not fail to use to further fool its own population. And the General Assembly, willingly or unwillingly, becomes an accomplice in this process. the situation cannot but be alarming”,- added Polyansky.

We remind that on December 7, the UN General Assembly supported the draft of a strengthened resolution of Ukraine on the militarization of Crimea by Russia. 63 countries voted for the corresponding decision, 17 voted against.
