Political prisoner Seitmemetov was placed in a special block

December 4, 2020

The defendant in the so-called third Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir Rustem Seitmemetov was temporarily placed in a special block of the Russian pre-trial detention center in Rostov-on-Don. It was reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.

“This practice is, in principle, known. Earlier, our other clients from Crimea also passed through this path, when they were transferred from Crimea. They are sent to quarantine cells for some time, after which they are sent to solitary cells in which they are kept for three to four weeks, sometimes a month, sometimes more than a month, after which they are already sent to be kept in shared cells”,- explained lawyer Nazim Sheikhmambetov.

We remind that on March 11, Russian security officials raided the dwellings of Crimean Tatars in Bakhchisaray and the Bakhchisaray district. Searches were conducted in the dwellings of Seytumer Seytumerov, Shukri Seytumerov, Amet Suleymanov, Seidamet Mustafayev, Rustem Seitmemetov, Ayder Suleymanov and Seytumer Seytumerov. The activists were detained. On March 12, the so-called Kyiv District Court of Simferopol sent Amet Suleymanov under house arrest. On March 13, the so-called Kyiv District Court chose a measure of restraint in the so-called third Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir case in the form of detention.
