The Austrian architectural bureau participates in the construction of an opera house in Sevastopol

The well-known Austrian architectural bureau Coop Himmelblau is involved in the construction of an opera house in Sevastopol. Now Ukraine is seriously studying the issue of imposing sanctions due to this fact. This is reported by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Austria Oleksandr Shcherba.

“For some time now, rumors have been circulating about the participation of the architectural bureau Coop Himmelblau in Putin's flagship project in Crimea – the construction of an opera house in the occupied Sevastopol. In early October, I called the director of the bureau, Wolf Priks, and tried to convince him not to destroy his reputation by participating in this indirect and at the same time, the unambiguous legitimization of the annexation. Unfortunately, he did not heed my arguments”,- the message said.

The ambassador stressed that Ukraine is seriously studying the issue of imposing sanctions against Mr. Priks and his bureau. All partners around the world will be notified that a once respectable architecture firm is now concluding dubious deals with Putin.
