November 25, 2020

The so-called Head of the occupied Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said that all processes for the construction of a seawater desalination plant on the peninsula had already been launched. This was reported by the Russian media agency TASS.

“All the processes have already been launched, I am in contact with all my colleagues. I cannot name the organizations that will build the desalination plant within the framework of the sanctions regime. But all organizations have a name. Such projects have never been implemented on the territory of the Russian Federation”,- he said.

Aksenov noted that desalination of sea water will cause less damage to the environment than using underground sources, so the authorities decided to focus on desalination.
