#LIBERATECRIMEA and Ukraine in world politics: the Academy of Public Diplomacy of the Crimean Tatars continues its work

On Saturday, November 14, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine continued the work of the IV Academy of Public Diplomacy of the Crimean Tatars. Within the framework of the II session, future people’s diplomats were introduced to the activities of the international movement #LIBERATECRIMEA, and also spoke about the peculiarities of Ukraine in world politics.

Eskender Bariiev, Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people spoke about the #LIBERATECRIMEA international movement – its creation and history of initiation, goals and objectives, mission and values, campaigns and actions carried out in different countries of the world.

According to the speaker, the movement is aimed at strengthening the voice of civil society, calling for an end to the illegal occupation of Crimea, a gross violation of international law and the root causes of countless human rights violations committed in Crimea since February 2014.

Bariiev told the participants about the implemented initiatives within the framework of #LIBERATECRIMEA, in particular, about the campaign United by the Flag – #LIBERATECRIMEA, the campaign Candidate, tell me: who does Crimea belong to?, The International Summer Freedom Camp, etc., and also demonstrated creative posters prepared by the activists of the movement.

Svitlana Andriushchenko, Doctor of Science, Associate Professor of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv told the activists about Ukraine's role in world politics, the specifics of its geopolitical position, global and regional players in the international arena.

The trainer analyzed the Ukrainian issue in world politics, priority tasks for Ukraine, the formats for resolving the Russian-Ukrainian war. In addition, Andriushchenko spoke about Ukraine's relations with the Russian Federation, the EU, the United States and China.

We remind that on November 7, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine, launched the IV Academy of Public Diplomacy of the Crimean Tatars. The training includes 6 sessions, during which qualified trainers and experts will tell the participants about the peculiarities and trends of world politics, human rights violations in Crimea, advocacy campaigns, international mechanisms for protecting human rights, the role of visual language and design in international campaigns, etc.
