Lithuania plans to participate in the Crimean platform – ambassador

November 13, 2020

Lithuanian Ambassador to Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine that Lithuania supports Ukraine’s decision to create an international Crimean platform and plans to participate in its activities.

“Lithuania supports Ukraine's decision to create an international Crimean Platform and plans to participate in its activities. We agree with Kyiv's opinion that this initiative will help to consolidate the policy of non-recognition, resist the militarization of Crimea, monitor the situation with human rights and the environment, raise other urgent problematic issues arising from the occupation of Crimea”,- he said.

It should be reminded that on November 5, representatives of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center met with the Ambassador of Lithuania to Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas. The interlocutors discussed the situation in the occupied Crimea, the CTRC presented the main directions of the organization's activities, and the parties agreed to jointly hold a number of events.
