The Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, a member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Eskender Bariiev, said in an interview with Hromadske Radio that the Mejlis is working to organize a campaign for parallel counting of COVID-19 patients in the occupied Crimea. Appeals have already been sent and there are statements.
Bariiev noted that there is already a humanitarian catastrophe in Crimea – there are not enough medicines and medical personnel. There is daily information about the incidence that the occupying power conceals. Diagnoses are made – pneumonia, cardiovascular diseases, but the cause is COVID-19.
“If it is necessary to deploy beds, this is very important. The Mejlis also appealed to international organizations, in particular the WHO, OSCE, UN and announced a fundraising campaign. Now we are working to organize a campaign on parallel counting of COVID-19 patients in Crimea. Appeals have already been sent and there are statements”,- he added.
