We are ready to deploy humanitarian camps on the contact line – Reznikov

November 9, 2020

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksii Reznikov said during his interview for the Radio Liberty media agency that Ukraine plans to deploy humanitarian camps on the contact line due to the rapid deterioration of the situation with the coronavirus in the occupied Crimea.

“Of course, we are ready to set up humanitarian camps on the contact line, near our checkpoints (on the administrative border of Crimea with the Kherson region) and equip, among other things, pharmacy kiosks. We accept humanitarian supplies from humanitarian organizations in a simplified manner. The Ministry of Social Policy quickly gives an answer accordingly. And these goods can then get through the checkpoint to the occupied territories in the interests of people”,- he said.

Reznikov stressed that a center for fixing human rights violations is also being created. He explained that this would be a database that would be used as soon as the first window of opportunity opened.

“People will be able to apply, to sue in all international courts in order to compensate for violations of their rights. And any violation, starting with the fact that our children are taken into the army of a foreign state, they have no right to do this, this is already a violation of humanitarian law . There are many such cases. We record all of this”,- he added.
