British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons called on Russia to immediately end human rights violations in occupied Crimea and return the peninsula to Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the department via Twitter.
“Among the violations are separation of families, coercion of Ukrainian citizens to obtain Russian citizenship or the threat of deportation from their native land, as well as human rights violations, such as politically motivated detention and persecution of ethnic and religious groups, in particular, the Crimean Tatars”,- the message said.
It is noted that the UK calls on Russia to immediately stop these abuses and return Crimea to Ukraine.
