On Thursday, October 29, Russian security officials conducted searches in the homes of activist Illia Bolshedvorov and chieftain of the so-called Crimean Cossacks Sergey Akimov in Simferopol. The men were taken to the so-called court. This was reported by the Crimean opposition blogger and activist Oleh Kocherov.
“According to Iryna Bolshedvorova, Illia’s wife, Illia's mobile phone was forcibly snatched from his hands and his dwelling was searched. Confiscation of a mobile phone took place within the framework of the so-called administrative case. The wife and children are currently in a state of shock from what is happening”,- the message said.
The blogger noted that Sergey Akimov was also searched in the morning according to information from his relatives. Judging by the telephone conversations of the employees, the searches began simultaneously.
“The reason for the search and detention was the decision of the judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea, Mikhalkova on the basis of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation. In what public events Illia Bolshedvorov participated this year, I personally do not know. Sergey Akimov went out this year only on single pickets, which, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, do not require the submission of notifications to obtain certain approvals, and the rules for their conduct are also specified in the legislation”,- he explained.
Two men have already been taken to the so-called court.
