In December, the Russian railway company “Grand Service Express” will open new rail routes to the occupied Crimea. Tavria trains will connect Simferopol with the Russian cities of Perm and Omsk. The carrier’s press service reports:
"Trains from Simferopol to Perm will depart on Tuesdays and Saturdays and follow the route through Rostov-on-Don, Volgograd, Saratov, Samara, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, and Yekaterinburg. In the opposite direction, trains will depart on Tuesdays and Fridays. The travel time will be 75 hours,"- the message says.
It is noted that the first train "Tavria" No. 142/141 Simferopol – Perm will depart from the Simferopol railway station on December 12 at 00:55 a.m. (GMT+3).
Let us recall that on November 8, 2019, in the occupied Crimea, all railway ticket offices started selling train tickets from Crimea to Moscow and St. Petersburg. On December 23, the first passenger train departed from the Moscovskiy station in St. Petersburg to the occupied Crimea. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Poland and Romania condemned the opening of railway traffic on the Kerch Bridge and reiterated their non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea.
Regular railway service between Kerch and Anapa through the Crimean Bridge will open on March 7. The Southern Suburban Passenger Company will serve as the carrier.
