The relatives of those suspected of participating in the Jehovah’s Witnesses religious organization banned in Russia, who were arrested on October 2, are preparing a complaint against the court’s decision, since they did not commit any crime against the foundations of the state. This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.
The wife of one of those arrested, Svitlana Sakada, stressed that the searches were carried out illegally, since her husband had not committed any crime against the foundations of the state.
"Illegal searches were carried out. They broke into the house at 06:00. They seized the radio equipment from us, all the gadgets. We do not understand why they treat us this way. My husband was taken for 2 months. Of course, we will fight”,- said the spouse of another arrested Natalya Maladyka.
We remind that on October 1, Russian security officials conducted searches in at least 9 dwellings of Crimeans in Sevastopol suspected of participating in the Jehovah's Witnesses religious organization banned in Russia. As a result, 4 people were detained. Ievhen Zhukov, Volodymyr Sakada and Volodymyr Maladyka were arrested until November 30, Ihor Shmiedt – until November 23. The detainees are charged under Part 1, Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of the activities of an extremist organization).
