People have never been a priority for Russia – MFA

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar, during her speech at the 45th session of the UN Human Rights Council, said that all that worries the occupier is the land and the sea, and people have never been a priority for Russia. Thus, in the hands of Russia, water turns into a weapon.

“As we see it now, digging rivers in a barbaric manner in the Crimea, in the hands of Russia, water turns into a weapon – both as a means of intimidating people under protection and to support its growing occupation machine. Development of military infrastructure and military-industrial facilities, an increase in the number of servicemen and the active resettlement of Russian citizens to the occupied Crimea lead to an increase in the demand for water resources”,- she said.

Dzheppar stressed that the needs of the local population are not a priority for the Russian Federation. All that worries the occupier is the land and the sea for the realization of its sinister geopolitical ambitions.
