On Friday, September 18, participants of the Russian initiative Strategy-18 held single pickets in Russia for the de-occupation of Crimea and in support of the Crimean Tatars. They unfurled posters with the words: “We demand the cancellation of the decision to recognize Hizb ut-Tahrir as a terrorist organization,” “Crimean Tatars are not terrorists,” “Conversations in a mosque are not terrorism,” “Faith is not a crime,” “Crimea is Ukraine” and others. The participants of the event published the corresponding photo report via their Facebook page.
“Today we went to the traditional Strategy-18 picket in defense of the Crimean Tatars in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tomsk. We were shocked by the huge terms that were given to the defendants in the so-called second Hizb ut-Tahrir case – from 13 to 19 years. And this only happened after the terms were “kindly” reduced for 2-3 years. “The crocodile opened his jaws a little” – so we wrote on the poster, correcting the initial numbers. And they released one political prisoner (Ernest Ametov). Such “generosity” has never been seen in the history of the application of the 205th article. Now it is necessary to free everyone else”,- the activists noted.
