The defendant in the so-called Yalta Hizb ut-Tahrir case Emir-Husein Kuku was placed in a punishment cell for 15 days because he asked to do exercises indoors, as his kidneys hurt. This was announced by his wife Meryem via her Facebook page.
“Emir-Husein said that it was very cold there. “We were taken to the Urals”,- said Emir. It is cold in the morning. When exercising in the early morning outside, due to the cold, his kidneys immediately began to react. He asked if he could do exercises indoors. The answer was the entry into the case and the placement in the punishment cell. For just one question…”- the message said.
The spouse noted that the political prisoner was very worried about his kidneys for the last year. After numerous letters and complaints, he was given a course of antibiotic injections, but he did not feel any relief.
We remind that Emir-Husein Kuku, Vadym Siruk, Muslim Aliiev, Enver Bekirov, Arsen Dzhepparov and Refat Alimov are accused of participation in the organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in the Russian Federation. They are charged with Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in it”). Later they began to impute Article 278 of the Criminal Code ("Forced seizure of power or forcible retention of power"). On October 11, during a court session in the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don, the prosecutor requested 13 to 20 years in prison for the so-called Yalta Hizb ut-Tahrir case defendants. On November 12, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the sentence. Muslim Aliiev and Enver Bekirov were sentenced to 19 and 18 years in a maximum security penal colony, Emir-Usein Kuku and Vadym Siruk – to 12 years, Refat Alimov – to 8 years, Arsen Dzhepparov – to 7 years.
