The Federal Agency for Water Resources of the Russian Federation stated that the transfer of water from the Russian Federation to the occupied Crimean peninsula is a very expensive project. In addition, dry years are also observed in the Krasnodar Region and the Rostov Region. The Interfax media agency reported about this.
“In addition to the fact that these options (transferring water to Crimea along the bottom of the Azov or Black Sea over a distance of more than 500 km) have a very high cost, dry years are also observed in the Krasnodar Region and the Rostov Region. The Krasnodar and Tsimlyansk reservoirs also are at low levels”,- the message said.
The Federal Agency for Water Resources of the Russian Federation noted that the Black Sea desalination project also requires a lot of investments. The use of desalination plants seems to be a rather expensive affair, as well as a result of water desalination might be questionable – through this process the water loses useful substances – and requires subsequent mineralization.
The creation of the so-called “rainfall fleet” is an equally expensive project. And in order to use underground and surface waters, additional purification is required.
