On Wednesday, August 19, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev and the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov met with the Ambassador of the Netherlands Johannes de Mol. The interlocutors discussed the situation in the occupied Crimea and paid special attention to the issue of the release of political prisoners. This was reported by Chubarov via his Facebook page.
“A long, detailed conversation took place about the most pressing events, processes and problems related to the temporarily occupied Crimea and the Crimean Tatar people. Particular attention was paid to the condition of political prisoners and their families. We discussed possible joint actions aimed at protecting human rights in Crimea”,- the message claimed.
The interlocutors kept returning to the most important issue – the issue of de-occupation of Crimea and restoration of territorial integrity. In addition, they agreed on regular meetings and consultations with the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people on all issues of mutual interest.
