First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar in an interview with the Turkish news agency Demirören said that the Russian Federation spends billions of dollars on international conferences in the occupied Crimea in order to create the illusion of a good life on the peninsula.
“Having occupied Crimea, Russia seeks to legitimize its crimes with the instruments of hybrid war. It spends billions of dollars on international conferences in the occupied Crimea. By inviting people from different countries to the peninsula, it makes them tell them “how good life in Crimea is” to create an illusion”,- she noted.
In addition, Dzheppar stressed that “Russia is trying to destroy the heritage of the Crimean Tatars, as it did historically before.”
