Lake Kyzyl-Yar is practically shallow in the occupied Crimea

August 3, 2020

Lake Kyzyl-Yar, located 10 km from the city of Saky, is in a terrible state and is practically shallow. The lake is experiencing the same problems as almost all Crimean water bodies. The Crimean Reintegration Association reported about this.

The North-Crimean Canal and the Mizhhirne Reservoir, which supplied Kyzyl-Yar with fresh water, are already empty. And naturally, this affected the lake as well.

“Now it's a dull and desolate landscape. And although there is still enough water in the lake, but together with hunters, and plans to transfer this reservoir to fish farmers, I think soon, I will have to forget about such an abundance of wild birds and animals”,- Crimeans write on social networks.
