We fear what happened in 2014 – MPs of the Polish Sejm

July 17, 2020

A group of MPs from the left-wing faction in the Polish parliament, during a press conference in the Sejm, said that the Russian Federation could try to attack Ukraine from Crimea in order to restore the water supply to the peninsula. This was reported by the Ukrinform media agency.

“We fear what happened in 2014: the Russian Federation will want to expand its territory, since the nearest place where there is drinking water is 80 km inland”,- the MP said.

It is noted that the Polish MP, while quoting Ukrainian and American experts, stressed that the water reserves on the Crimean peninsula will last for a month and a half. He also informed about the significant contingent of Russian troops deployed in Crimea.

“Therefore, I appeal to the President to convene the National Security Council to discuss this situation, and, possibly, take some steps, thanks to which Ukraine could feel our support”,- he added.
