The Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine has once again emphasized that the EU will never recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea, and also condemns the referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which took place on the territory of the occupied peninsula in violation of international law. The corresponding statement is published on the website of the department.
“The European Union does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation. Thus, the EU condemns the referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which ended on July 1, and which took place on the Crimean peninsula in violation of international law”,- the statement said.
In addition, the statement emphasizes that the European Union condemns the participation in the referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation of residents of territories who are not yet under the control of the Ukrainian authorities and who were randomly issued Russian passports contrary to the spirit of the Minsk agreements.
