The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine canceled EIE for applicants from ORDLO and Crimea

On Friday, July 3, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported draft law #3734 “On amendments to the law “On Higher Education ”, which allows applicants from the occupied districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and Crimea to enter higher education institutions within the limits of quotas without external independent examination (EIE). The corresponding decision was supported by 310 deputies.

“The law introduced the possibility of admission for entrance exams within the established quotas for applicants whose place of residence is the temporarily occupied territory and the territory of settlements on the contact line to all higher education institutions. Today, admission for the quota is provided only for applicants whose residence is the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol to authorized institutions of higher education”,- the Verkhovna Rada website said in a statement.

In particular, Article 44 of the Law “On Higher Education” is supplemented by the provision that for persons whose place of residence are the occupied districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the territory of settlements on the contact line, the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, free of charge training with scholarship support is provided upon their request, preparatory courses of higher education institutions lasting up to one year, followed by entry into institutions of higher education as internally displaced individuals.
