The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned the holding of military parades in the occupied Crimea, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in World War II, and sent a corresponding note of protest to the Russian department. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
“This provocation once again confirms that Russia deliberately goes to a further escalation of tension in Ukrainian-Russian relations and does not want to resolve the problematic issues caused by armed aggression by the Russian Federation and its occupation of part of the sovereign territory of Ukraine," the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry believes that the holding of the so-called military parades in Donetsk and Luhansk temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation is a gross violation of the obligations of the Russian side as a party to the Minsk agreements.
“We regard the demonstration by the Russian Federation during the so-called military parades in the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol of military equipment as a continuation of the Russian policy of militarization of the Crimea, which poses a serious threat to European security. It looks especially cynical that the Russian occupation administration uses minors for militaristic purposes”,- the statement emphasized.
Ukraine requires the Russian Federation to withdraw all its armed formations, military equipment and mercenaries. In addition, the corresponding note of protest was handed over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
