The Crimean Prosecutor’s Office reported about the suspicion to the so-called military commissar in the cities of Yevpatoriya and Saky, Saky district of the Republic of Crimea because of forcing Crimeans to serve in the armed forces of the occupying state. This was reported by the press service of the department.

It is noted that the suspect, taking the post of head of the Saky military commissariat, after the occupation of the peninsula, in 2014, changed his oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine and transferred to military service in the army of the occupying state. He organized and directly participated in conducting compulsory draft campaigns for civilians of the occupied peninsula for military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

“In the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, despite the pandemic of the coronavirus infection COVID-19, another illegal conscription campaign continues, threatening hundreds of lives, although the Russian Federation, as the occupying state, is obliged to protect human rights on the peninsula. Neglecting numerous international obligations, in general, the occupation authorities illegally drafted about 22 thousand Crimeans for military service”,- said Ihor Ponochovny, prosecutor of the AR of Crimea.
