On Thursday, June 11, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the OSCE, Yevhen Tsymbaliuk, at a meeting of the Organization’s Permanent Council, voiced a demand for the release of the Ukrainian soldier, whom the Russian security forces detained at the administrative border with occupied Crimea.
“The number of Ukrainian citizens illegally detained by the Russian side continues to increase. On May 30, a Ukrainian soldier went missing near the administrative border between mainland Ukraine and the occupied Crimea. As it turned out later, he was abducted by the Russian intelligence service, which accused him of the so-called violation of the state border. We demand from the Russian side to release him immediately”,- the statement said.
Tsymbaliuk called on the Russian Federation to end the illegal occupation of Crimea, the militarization of the Black and Azov Seas and to stop aggression against Ukraine, including through the withdrawal of armed formations, militants and their equipment from the temporarily occupied territories.
We remind that the FSB of Russia claims to have detained a Ukrainian soldier who disappeared on May 30 at the administrative border with the occupied Crimea. A so-called criminal case has been instituted against him for allegedly illegally crossing the Russian border.
