The FSB of the Russian Federation reports on the alleged prevention of a terrorist act in Simferopol

On Wednesday, June 10, the FSB of the Russian Federation reported about an alleged prevention a terrorist act in Simferopol. Five people were detained on suspicion of planning to arrange an explosion in the market. They allegedly had connections with “representatives of radical Ukrainian forces fighting in the southeast of Ukraine.” This was reported by the press service of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

"As a result of the measures taken, five citizens of the Russian Federation were detained. It was established that the detainees were preparing to undermine a makeshift explosive device in one of the markets of the republican center, and also propagated the ideology of terrorism and extremism in the Internet,"- the message says.

The detainees allegedly possessed improvised explosive devices, ammunition, small arms, cold steel, and communications equipment containing information about allegedly prepared crimes.

It is noted that the issue of initiating criminal proceedings against detainees on the grounds of corpus delicti under Part 1 of Art. 30, part 1, article 205, part 1, article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Preparation for the implementation of a terrorist act”, “Public calls for terrorist activities”).
