“See you in the Hague”: Ukrainian ambassador to the United States responded to Russian statements at the UN conference on Crimea

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Volodymyr Yelchenko, responded to a statement by the Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, Vasilii Nebenzia, at a conference on Crimea initiated by the Russian Federation on May 21. Ukrainian diplomat Volodymyr Yelchenko unveiled his reaction to the event via Twitter.

“See you in the Hague, guys”,- Yelchenko responded to a statement by Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasilii Nebenzia that Moscow and Kyiv should not have a dialogue on the Crimean issue, since the inhabitants of the peninsula “have made their choice long ago.”

We remind that on Thursday, May 21, an informal communication of members of the UN Security Council by the Arria formula took place, initiated by the Russian Federation, but taking into account the coronavirus pandemic and with the help of modern technical capabilities, in was conducted via video conference. The declared theme was called “The situation with human rights in Crimea”.
