On Thursday, May 21, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting decided to conduct an unscheduled inspection of Studio 1+1 Teleradiocompany LLC. The channel showed a map of Ukraine without the occupied Crimea, the agency’s press service said.
“In a letter, the Security Service of Ukraine appealed to the regulatory body on the fact that the TV channel showed the map of Ukraine without the occupied Crimea. The monitoring of the National Council on April 13 recorded placement in the TSN news release, in the Price collapse programme (at 20:25), the map of Ukraine without the occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea with reference to a map of our country published on the website of the international organization “Nord Pool Spot.” This is the European energy exchange that sells electricity in Europe (Norway)”,- the report said.
It is emphasized that this fact is a sign of violation of the requirements of Paragraphs a) and c) of Part 1 of Article 59 of the Law of Ukraine “On Television and Radio Broadcasting”, according to which the broadcasting organization is obliged to comply with Ukrainian legislation, license requirements and disseminate objective information.
