On Tuesday, May 19, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the law “On the Ukrainian Foreign Broadcasting System”, according to which it is possible to broadcast programs in Russian into the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea and Donbas. This was reported via the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
“The law changed the general requirements for the development of MPBU programs from English into Ukrainian and normalized the distribution of terrestrial analogue and digital broadcasting in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, broadcasting in areas of Ukraine bordering the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, The Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as broadcasting in the border regions of Ukraine, bordering the territory of the aggressor state or territories of other bordering countries from which the aggressor state programs are broadcasted via terrestrial broadcasting and / or digital broadcasting”,- the statement claimed.
