May 19, 2020

On Tuesday, May 19, during a speech in Parliament, MP from the Servant of the People faction, head of the Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Yelyzaveta Yasko, stated that forced relocation of the Crimean population and racial discrimination against Crimean Tatars is a crime committed by the Russian Federation. It is reported by the Ukrinform media agency.

“Today from this rostrum I want to emphasize that forced relocation of the population is a crime. And racial discrimination against the Crimean Tatars is a crime. The occupant, namely the Russian Federation, is to blame. And if someone wants the Servant of the People faction or President Zelensky to forget it or to remain silent, this will not happen. We, the state of Ukraine, have fought and will continue to fight in all international courts, on international platforms, to hold accountability for the crimes committed”,- Yasko said.

The deputy from the Servant of the People faction emphasized that “Crimea is our common pain and our responsibility”,- therefore, all factions should move together towards its de-occupation.
