The Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, a member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with Kyiv 98 FM radio, said that the goal of the occupying authorities of Crimea are the same as that Catherine the Great and the Communists – to get rid of the uncomfortable people.
“On May 18, it was a matter of honor for each Tatar to come to the central square in Simferopol. Each family sent a representative. Sometimes up to 50,000 people gathered. And what is happening in Crimea today is clearly evidenced by the fact that in Bilohirsk by a balloon the portrait of Stalin was raised, the criminal who wanted to destroy our people,”,- said Bariiev.
The Head of the CTRC believes that it is extremely important for Crimean Tatars to try to live in their homeland and preserve their identity, because “the goal of the occupying authorities is the same as that of Catherine the Great and the Communists – to get rid of the uncomfortable people.”
