On Wednesday, May 6, an activist and independent journalist Seyran Menseitov received a warning from the so-called Russian authorities about the inadmissibility of unauthorized events such as meetings, marches, and rallies. It is reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.
Seyran Menseitov said he received a letter warning not to participate in the so-called anti-Russian event “The world against violence and occupation. March of dignity” on May 3, 2020. And exactly a week ago, a man from the prosecutor’s office called him and asked him to arrive, but the journalist refused.
“In the end, he came with this notice, read it to me and asked me to sign it. I refused to sign it and said that I had not participated in any events before and that I consider all of this to be pressure on activists. After that he left, threatening me that I will sign it in his office with witnesses. And they will bring me either there or to the FSB or the police. Exactly a week has passed and now this letter came to me by mail with this notification”,- he said.
Earlier, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center reported that since the beginning of 2020, in the occupied Crimea, 49 Crimean Tatar activists received warnings from the so-called Russian authorities about the inadmissibility of unauthorized events.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center emphasizes that these actions are regarded as another fact of pressure on the Crimean Tatar people, who do not agree with the temporary occupation of the peninsula.
