In the occupied Crimea, in Sevastopol, despite the spread of coronavirus infection, a parade of ships, a demonstration flight of aircraft, as well as a ceremony of lighting the eternal flame and laying wreaths and flowers at the obelisk of military glory at the Mount Sapun memorial complex will take place in honor of May 9. This was reported by the press service of the Black Sea Fleet.
“A parade of ships and a ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers on the water in memory of the Black Sea sailors who died during the Great Patriotic War will be held in Sevastopol Bay. During this ceremony, all the ships of the front line will fire three blank artillery shells, accompanied by the signals of ship sirens and bells of the steeples of city’s Orthodox cathedrals and churches”,- the report said.
After the parade of ships in the Sevastopol Bay in the sky above the city, a demonstration flight of aviation will take place. Black Sea Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Igor Osipov together with the leaders of Sevastopol will hold a ceremony of lighting the eternal flame and lay wreaths and flowers at the obelisk of military lory at the Mount Sapun memorial complex, as well as at the memorial wall in honor of the 1941-1942 Sevastopol defense at Admiral Nakhimov Square.
