32 new cases of coronavirus detected in the occupied Crimea

On Wednesday, May 6, during a meeting of the operational headquarters to counter COVID-19, the so-called head of the occupied Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said that 32 new cases of coronavirus were recorded on the peninsula per day, 29 of them in Alushta hospital. The Ministry of Health has launched an internal investigation, as there have not been so many infections in any case.

“The situation is bad, over the past day 32 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered. 29 of them were identified during anti-epidemic measures and laboratory screening among medical workers and patients of the Alushta city hospital – 24 people from the infectious diseases department of the Federal State Clinical Center for Specialized Types of Medical aid and medical technologies and 5 people in other parts of Crimea. One patient was identified during the examination as a contact in a previously confirmed family related infection case, two – when applying for medical and laboratory examination”,- said Sergey Aksenov.

It is noted that an official investigation by the so-called Ministry of Health of Crimea was launched in Alushta outbreak, since there have not been so many infections in any case. A commission went there to check the case, including the use of personal protective equipment by the medical team itself.

At the moment, 160 cases of new coronavirus infection have been recorded in Crimea, 98 people are infected in Sevastopol, two people have died.
