The representative office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea urged to respond to the situation with the spread of COVID-19 among political prisoners

The representative office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea called on the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to respond to the occupying state’s measures to counter the spread of COVID-19 among Crimean political prisoners. This was reported via the department’s Facebook page.

“The rapid deterioration of the epidemiological situation and the incidence of coronavirus, congestion and closure of hospitals, the failure to provide citizens with appropriate assistance in Crimea and the city of Sevastopol temporarily occupied by Russia testifies to the completely irresponsible attitude of the Russian Federation, as an occupying state, to its duties and can lead to serious humanitarian consequences”,- the report said.

The representative office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea called on the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the prosecutor's office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to respond to the occupying state’s measures to counteract the spread of COVID-19 among Crimeans, including the ones who are currently held in places of detention.
