On Wednesday, April 22, in the occupied Crimea, the Russian prosecutor’s office opened an administrative case against the imam of the mosque Diliaver Khalilov for “organizing unauthorized meetings, marches and rallies. It was reported by the Crimean solidarity public initiative.

It is noted that the charge of engaging in illegal missionary activity was abolished, but a new charge was brought against Dilyaver Khalilov under Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Organization of mass simultaneous stay and (or) movement of citizens in public places that led to the violation of public order”).
“The prosecutor's office is trying to prosecute Dilyaver Khalilov, allegedly for illegal missionary activity, and now there is a second article in this indictment: an article about organizing an unauthorized meeting, march or rally. It was written in the request. But when we arrived, the “missionary work” article disappeared, and according to Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, it was issued in a decree, that the Friday prayer is not a mandatory religious rite, so it turns out that people gathered there to hold a rally, according to the indictment presented today”,- said lawyer Emil Kurbedinov.
