The so-called Simferopol Hizb ut-Tahri case defendant, Ayder Saledinov, who is now detained in the Salavat detention center in Bashkortostan, was placed in a punishment cell, despite having been ill for a long time. The wife of the political prisoner Guzal reported this to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.
“Now my husband has been transferred to Salavat. He has recently been visited by a lawyer. I learned from a lawyer that my husband was ill and, as I understood, he had been ill for a long time, which did not prevent him from being detained in a punishment cell similar to the detention center. He had been there at least 3 times since his arrival and spent there 30 days in total”,- his wife said.
His wife noted that now, in conditions of coronavirus infection, they keep in touch only through a lawyer, and there were no official calls.
“Last time I saw my husband in the Rostov pre-trial detention center in January. Moreover, I had to go far away from Crimea and it was hard and expensive. I received a letter from the Ombudswoman of Ukraine, Liudmyla Denisova, to pay attention to the violation of my husband's rights”,- she added.
We remind that on October 12, 2016, Russian security forces as a result of mass searches in the village of Strohonivka of Simferopol region detained five representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people – Uzeir Abdullaev, Teymur Abdullaev, Rustem Ismailov, Emil Dzhemadenov and Ayder Saledinov. They were accused of participating in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in the Russian Federation. They were charged with article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“organizing the activities of a terrorist organization and participating in it”).
On June 18, 2019, the North Caucasian District Military Court of the Russian Federation sentenced individuals involved in the Simferopol “Hizb ut-Tahrir case”.
