The so-called second Simferopol Hizb ut-Tahrir case defendant Yashar Muedinov was placed for forced psychiatric examination in the “Crimean Republican Psychiatric Hospital No. 1”. He is being held together with a person who, according to the political prisoner himself, has serious psychological deviations, since he is behaving inappropriately, he constantly provokes Muedinov to conflicts. It is known that while in jail, this man killed his cellmate. This was reported by the Crimean solidarity public initiative with reference to the lawyer Venera Abdyshaieva.
A political prisoner was sent to a forced psychiatric examination on April 2, 2020. It is planned to be completed by April 30.
“Muedinov informed me that he was being kept together with a man who, according to him, has serious psychological deviations, since he behaves inappropriately, constantly provokes Muedinov to conflicts. It is known that while in prison, this man killed his cellmate. Muedinov’s round-the-clock stay in the cell with this person has a negative effect on the psychological state of my client”,- the lawyer commented.
Yashar Muedinov told the lawyer that he repeatedly appealed to the head of the male department of the hospital forensic psychiatric examination with a request to transfer him to another ward. His request for a transfer was ignored.
“I believe that now my client is in danger and his rights are violated, he is subjected to an unlawful psychological pressure during a psychiatric examination within the walls of a medical institution. Due to these circumstances, a complaint was prepared to the prosecutor’s office and statements to the hospital administration. According to Muedinov, Raim Ayvazov is in the same position as he is”,- said Venera Abdyshaieva.
We remind that on March 27, 2019, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea carried out mass searches in 26 Crimean Tatars' dwellings. Literature was seized from some activists, which, according to Crimean Solidarity, the security forces planted themselves. In addition to books and brochures, people were confiscated phones, tablets, laptops, passports. The servicemen behaved rudely. It is reported that they used physical force against detainees and entered the houses in shoes. Lawyers who arrived at the site of the searches were not allowed to contact the detainees. According to the results of the searches, 20 people were suspected of involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, which is banned in the Russian Federation. On March 28, three more Crimean Tatar activists were detained, in whose dwellings searches were carried out in their absence. On March 27-28, the occupation court arrested all 23 detainees after searches. They chose a preventive measure in the form of detention. Subsequently, all the individuals involved in this so-called case were repeatedly extended the terms of their arrest.
