On Monday, April 13, during a meeting of the operational headquarters to prevent the spread of a new infection in the occupied Crimea, Military Commissioner Oleg Ermilov said that due to the spread of the coronavirus, “the first transfer to the armed forces was postponed approximately to May 20.”
“On April 1, the spring draft started, but in accordance with the situation, the first transfer to the armed forces was postponed approximately to May 20. Last spring, we sent the first teams somewhere around April 10. And the preparatory activities were postponed until April 20. If there is the need the transfer can even be further postponed until the end of restrictive measures”,- said Yermilov.
The so-called head of the Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, proposed holding a workshop with the military registration and enlistment office to discuss “how to make sure that the spring draft does not turn into a hotbed of coronavirus spread.”
