During a planned patrol, Ukrainian border guards discovered the self-lifting floating drilling rigs “Ukraine” in the Odessa field, renamed by the invaders to “Crimea-1” and “Taurida”, with Russian flags raised. Both rigs show signs of continued industrial activity. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

As it approached the field as close as 5 nautical miles, the watch on the ships of the Marine Guard recognized the Black Sea Fleet’s missile boat, which patrolled nearby area”,- the report said.
It is noted that at the request of the Marine Guard ship about the purpose of staying a military ship of the Russian Federation in the exclusive economic zone of Ukraine, the personnel of the Russian ship said that they were protecting the economic activities of the Russian Federation in this area and reported that it was prohibited to approach drilling platforms closer than 1 nautical mile.
“The Marine Guard continues to record and collect information on the implementation of illegal economic activities of the Russian Federation in the exclusive (maritime) economic zone of Ukraine under the guise of the ship and boat staff of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation”,- the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine added.
