February 27, 2020

On Wednesday, February 26, on the Day of Crimean Resistance to the Russian Occupation, activists in Lviv raised Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar flags. On the building of the city administration a banner claiming “Crimea is Ukrain” was hung. It is reported by Radio Liberty.

“By 2014, we, Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars, were close, yet very far from each other, and suddenly we noticed that we were together. A positive moment of understanding began. Ukraine should be wise at the same time. Ukraine should be conscious to offer a meaningful step of help, to understand Mejlis and offer state support to the Crimean Tatar people. I urge everyone to take responsibility for the fate of the Crimean Tatar people”,- said publicist Myroslav Marynovich during a round table in Lviv.

Participants of the rallies came out with the following slogans: “Crimea is Ukraine!”, “Crimea is not a bargaining chip”, “Without Crimea there is no free and independent Ukraine!”, “Freedom to 166 political prisoners!”, “Return 188 parents to their children!”, “SAVE ATR”.
