On Sunday, February 23, in Canberra (Australia), activists held an event in front of the Russian Embassy dedicated to the 6th anniversary of the occupation of Crimea. The participants wanted to draw public attention to Russian aggression in Ukraine and recall the geopolitical crime – the occupation of the peninsula. It is reported by Radio Liberty.

It is noted that about fifty people stood at the entrance to the embassy with posters claiming: "Crimea is Ukraine! Free Crimea!" The participants also recalled another crime of Russia: 76 years ago, genocide took place – the deportation of the Chechen and Ingush peoples.

“As the coordinator of the event, Nataliia Aliokhina, told Radio Liberty, the purpose of the event was to “draw public attention to Russian aggression in Ukraine and remind Australians of the Kremlin’s geopolitical crime – the occupation of Crimea”,- the statement emphasized.
