On Thursday, February 20, the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea, the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that it would not recognize the occupation of the peninsula and would continue to fully support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. This was reported via the website of the ministry.
The Foreign Ministry recalled that six years ago, on February 20, 2014, the illegal occupation of Crimea by Russian began, after which an illegal referendum took place and the subsequent annexation of the peninsula by Russia on March 18, 2014, which is a gross violation of international law.
“The Czech Republic, together with the European Union and the overwhelming majority of states, does not recognize and strongly condemns the annexation of Crimea and continues to fully support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders”,- the ministry website underlined.
