In the occupied Crimea, Crimean Tatar activists receive warnings from the “prosecutor’s office” “about the inadmissibility of violating the law on countering extremist activities and the legislation on meetings, rallies, marches, and pickets.” This was reported by activist Zair Smedlya on his Facebook page.
Crimean Tatar activist Zair Smedlya received a warning from the Russian-controlled "prosecutor's office" of the Krasnogvardeisky district, but as it turned out, dozens of such warnings were issued.
“The district prosecutor’s office received information that mass unauthorized events are planned to be held on the territory of the Republic of Crimea from February 23 to 26, 2020. During these events, people will call for unlawful actions to violate public order, provocations of extremist nature, and power resistance to representatives of the authorities of the Republic of Crimea," the warning says.
