Crimean Tatar Ilver Ametov Was Detained for More Than an Hour in the “Police” Department of the Occupied Crimea

Ilver Ametov, chairman of the Sudak regional Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, was detained for more than an hour in the Sudak police department of the occupied Crimea. He was summoned to review the results of the examination of seized exhibits from his private museum. This was reported by Crimean Tatar activist Lenora Dyulber on her Facebook page.

"According to Ilver Ametov, the expert review of the exhibits seized from his museum concluded that it was allegedly a firearm and could be used. Ametov said that he might be charged with the possession of a firearm and that he could be additionally summoned to the police for a “talk.” In addition, the police were interested to know where and when did he acquire these exhibits”, the statement said.

It is noted that Ametov was not given copies of the examination review, neither was he allowed to make copies himself.

Previously, on September 27, Russian security forces conducted a search in the household and cafe of the chairman of the Sudak regional Mejlis, Ilver Ametov. During the search, "law enforcers" seized the identity card of a local Mejlis member and antique objects from his private museum, including 4 bayonet-knives made in 1833-1933. Ametov possesses all the necessary paperwork for his exhibits in the museum.

On November 7, the Sudak "court" of the occupied Crimea held a "court hearing" on the administrative protocol against the chairman of the Sudak regional Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilver Ametov, in whose house a search had been previously conducted. Ametov was fined 300 rubles.
