On Tuesday, December 17, at a press conference in Kyiv, the archbishop of the Crimean diocese of the OCU Klyment called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to make an official statement, namely a note of protest against Russia due to violations of the rights of OCU believers in the occupied Crimea. The aforemention was reported by the Crimea.Realities media agency.
“I appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in particular. It seems that Ukrainian society does not exist, that the Ukrainian Orthodox community is generally outside the legal field of Ukraine. Therefore, I would ask … I know that the Ministry of Veterans and Occupied Territories has prepared a certain letter that was sent to the Minister and I hope that the Foreign Minister will sign this letter and make an official statement, a note of protest against Russia”,- said Archbishop Klyment.
We remind that in July 2019, the so-called Ministry of Property and Land Relations of Crimea began “repairing” the premises of the Cathedral of Saint Volodymyr and Olha of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) in Simferopol, as a result of which, according to the archbishop of the Crimean diocese of OCU Klyment, church property was “plundered and broken”.
