Crimean Solidarity informs that on Friday, 9 August, the Supreme “Court” of Crimea rejected Nariman Memediminov attorney’s complaint against the extension of the detention period until June 15.
Previously, on 22 March 2018, in the Kholmovka village, Bakhchysarai region, Russian police forces searched the household of Nariman Memediminov, Crimean Solidarity activist and a civic journalist. According to his wife, the police acted ruthlessly, cursing and breaking open the door. Nariman was accused of public calls to terrorist acts. He remains in unlawful remand detention for over a year. Throughout this period, he was repeatedly denied the right to due process, particularly the term of his detention was regularly extended and all motions and complains were rejected. He was also denied the right to physical and mental health.
