Hizb ut-Tahrir case defendant Server Mustafayev has his appeal of extension of arrest dismissed

On Wednesday, the 24th of July the so-called Crimean Supreme Court rejected an appeal of the second Bakhchysarai “Hizb ut-Tahrir” case Server Mustafayev in order to prolong his preventive measure. He will remain in the pre-trial detention center until the 9th of August 2019 according to Crimean Solidarity media agency.

"During the hearing, the prosecutor acted in violation of the rules of Criminal Code, because of which which Server  Mustafayev   demanded a dismissal of the prosecutor. The judge rejected the claim and did not grant the appeal", – the message infroms.

The so-called court proceedings were held in private.

On the 21st of May 2018 in the occupied Crimea Russian security officers conducted searches in the houses of activists of the public association Crimean Solidarity public association, as a result of which Server  Mustafayev and Edem Smailov were detained. They are accused of the membership in the prohibited in Russia "Hizb ut-Tahrir" organisation.

On the 14th of December 2018 Server  Mustafayev   was sent to an asylum for examination.  Mustafayev   himself considers such a placement as an outrageous example of punitive psychiatry.

In February 2019  Mustafayev   was accused of spreading, studying and promoting extremist ideology.

On the 6th of June 2019 the so-called Crimean Supreme Court extended the detention of those involved in the second Bakhchysarai "Hizb ut-Tahrir" case. Marlen Asanov, Ernest Ametov, Timur Ibrahimov, Server  Mustafayev   and Edem Smailov will remain in the pre-trial detention center until the 9th of August.
